JVHS AUTOMOTIVE TEAM WINS NATIONAL CALLENGE
The Jordan Vocational High School Automotive Team, under the instruction of Mr. Robert Harris, has won the National Quaker State Best in Class Challenge automotive competition! The competition featured five national finalists (out of 55 semifinalists) restoring and customizing a classic Mustang. The JVHS Automotive Team spent six weeks working on the Mustang and competed against four other national finalists from high schools located in North Carolina, Florida, New Jersey and Illinois. As the winner, the JVHS Mustang will be shown at a Barrett-Jackson Auction, billed as the world’s greatest collector car auctions, to be held April 6 through 8 2017, in West Palm Beach Florida.
A Trophy Presentation will be held on December 19, 2016 at 12:00 PM in the Robert M. Barr Auditorium (Jordan Vocational High School). All alumni and the community are welcome and encourage to attend the ceremony!
Goal of the Quaker State Best in Class Challenge: To empower the next generation of auto technicians, we invited schools across the country to compete in restoring clunkers into certified hot rods on a budget. This year’s ride? A fourth generation edition of the muscle car that started it all: The Ford Mustang.
